Today’s Number One Film:
Poltergeist, 9.58pm Turner Classic Movies. Watch this if you liked A Nightmare on Elm Street, Phantasm or The Shining. The screenplay, by one Steven Spielberg, may well be his best (with apologies to E.T.). It is wonderfully spooky, starting off in haunted house realms but wandering into dream/space territory towards the end (and even then it’s gripping).
