The best of the DIRECTV primetime lineup
If both Parts I & II hadn’t been picked together in the last fortnight, **The Godfather BEST FILM OF THE DAY, 8pm AMC, would surely have been today’s choice. The DIRECTV Channel screens episode two of the excellent Sally Wainwright English police drama, Happy Valley, at 10pm. It’s just an hour long but, after The Godfather, it’s the next best hour on TV tonight. If Minions had started an hour earlier, it might have got the nod.
Today’s Number One Film:
Garfield: The Movie 6.35pm Fox Family. Watch this if you liked The Smurfs, Stuart Little or Nine Lives. A kid’s film, and a fairly formulaic one, when all is said and done, but there are strong redeeming qualities for adults, principally the casting of Bill Murray as the notoriously grouchy cat.
